Our trained clinical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/services\/cancer-care\/supportive-care-nurse-navigators\/\">nurse navigators<\/a> and intake coordinators will customize your appointments to fit your personal situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to your appointment, your nurse navigator will provide one-on-one phone consultation to review our services. We will ask you to collect previous health records from any outside institutions, which we will review prior to your consultation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During your visit, our breast cancer care team will work with you to determine your personalized plan for treatment. All services are tailored to your personal needs by our multispecialty care providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During your visit you will have the opportunity to meet with a multidisciplinary group of specialists, who are faculty of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. With this in mind, a specialized nurse navigator guides you and your family through treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your navigator works closely with your physicians to coordinate your care, answer questions, and connect you to beneficial support services. Throughout your care, your navigator will provide education about your diagnosis and care plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/services\/cancer-care\/supportive-care-nurse-navigators\/\">Find out more about our nurse navigator services<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"nutrition-services\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nutrition services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Healthy eating is important for everyone, but people with cancer often have special concerns. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/services\/nutrition-services\/\">Registered dietitians<\/a> provide up-to-date, research-based nutrition advice throughout cancer treatment and into recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A registered dietitian who specializes in oncology nutrition is available to discuss your nutritional needs, provide resources and education and answer your nutrition questions when you undergo chemotherapy. Topics include managing your appetite, enhancing your immune system and getting adequate nutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"rehabilitation-services\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rehabilitation services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When cancer surgery or treatment has left you feeling weaker, having difficulty keeping up with your activities of daily living or with special physical needs, you can depend on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/services\/rehabilitation\/\">Rehabilitation<\/a> staff to get you back on the road to recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/services\/rehabilitation\/physical-therapy\/\">Physical therapists<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/services\/rehabilitation\/occupational-therapy\/\">occupational therapists<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/services\/rehabilitation\/speech-therapy\/\">speech language pathologists<\/a> can work with you on strength and conditioning, self-care, swallowing and communication.
