Nothing worked for long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt hurt to walk. Over time the wound healed, but Nonay still thought something was wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last year, Nonay became very sick with a high fever. Doctors at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital discovered a severe infection in the area of his spine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A surgery to discover the cause of the infection was Nonay\u2019s only hope. For 10 hours <strong>Dr. Evalina Burger<\/strong>, a surgeon at UCH, searched for the cause of Nonay\u2019s infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Burger is a former military surgeon in South Africa.
