FORT COLLINS, Colo. (July 26, 2017) \u2013 Eight new providers joined UCHealth teams in northern Colorado in June, boosting access to care from Longmont to Fort Collins.<\/p>\n

Their specialties range from internal medicine and women\u2019s care to neurology, pulmonology and critical care medicine.<\/p>\n

All of the providers will be caring for patients as part of UCHealth Medical Group.<\/p>\n

Dr. Benjamin Shaw<\/strong><\/a> joined the hospital medicine team at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital<\/a>, which will open in late summer at 1750 E. Ken Pratt Blvd in Longmont.<\/p>\n

Dr. Benjamin Shaw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Shaw believes in meeting the needs of the patient and helping his patients reach their care goals. He stays abreast of the latest treatments and applying evidence-based medicine to patient care. He also subscribes to the osteopathic principles and philosophies of treating not only the patient\u2019s disease state but treating the patient\u2019s mind, body and spirit.<\/p>\n

As a hospitalist, Shaw is a strong advocate for preventive care and patient education, which includes involving the patient\u2019s support network. The hospital environment allows providers to not only provide education to the patient, he said, but also to those who are there to support and care\u00a0for their loved one.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no greater joy or reward than to being able to support a patient during their most critical time of need and following them through recovery and discharge from the hospital,\u201d Shaw said.<\/p>\n

Shaw earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Penn., and completed a residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals Richmond Heights Medical Center in Richmond Heights, Ohio.<\/p>\n

Dr. Patrick Quigley<\/strong> joined the team at UCHealth Occupational Medicine Clinic, 2500 Rocky Mountain Ave., North Medical Office Building, Suite 2200, Loveland.<\/p>\n

He earned a medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, Kan., and completed a residency in occupational medicine at the University of Cincinnati, which led to a master\u2019s degree in environmental science.<\/p>\n
