He weighed 6 pounds and 15 ounces and measured 20 inches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love this hospital already,\u201d Jennifer Kiefer said. \u201cEverybody has been so kind since I stepped in here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Being the first baby born in a hospital definitely has its perks.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday morning, mom and baby had a surprise visit from a group of care providers. Dr. Heidi Pomfret, an obstetrician-gynecologist, lead the group into the room, wheeling in a large red Radio Flyer wagon full of goodies from physicians, midwives, nurses and staff members who care for patients at the hospital. Ken Pratt Blvd. in Longmont <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/today\/uchealth-longs-peak-hospital-officially-opens-doors-longmont\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">officially opened Thursday morning<\/a> with 51 inpatient beds and room to grow.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the birth center, Longs Peak Hospital features include an intensive care unit, four operating rooms, a Level III trauma center and emergency department, advanced cardiac services, a special care nursery, a caf\u00e9, a gift shop, 24\/7 retail pharmacy, radiology and laboratory services, a meditation room and a courtyard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LONGMONT, Colo.
