Residents of\u00a0the growing Sterling Ranch community\u00a0south of Chatfield State Park now have access to health services close to home, with the opening of UCHealth Sterling Ranch Medical Center<\/a>, near the intersection of Titan Road and Santa Fe Drive. Family medicine physician Dr. Kalindi A. Batra<\/a> will lead a staff of 10 health care providers, including a nurse practitioner, physical therapist and physician assistants. The clinic staff will offer primary care, urgent care, physical therapy and occupational medicine.<\/p>\n

\u201cCompassion and listening skills are essential in providing great patient care,\u201d said Dr. Batra. \u201cI work to connect with patients by actively listening and engaging communication to help promote individualized and personal care. A team approach offers the best care \u2013 and the most important person on the team is the patient.\u201d<\/p>\n

Located in Sterling Ranch Civic Center, the clinic is the only health care facility within the residential community and not far from UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital<\/a>, currently under construction near Lucent Boulevard and C-470 and set to open in Spring 2019. Once open, the full-service hospital will provide Sterling Ranch Medical Center patients a seamless transition of care to advanced cardiac services, a Level III trauma center and emergency department, an intensive care unit and a Birth Center that includes C-section operating rooms and a Level III NICU.<\/p>\n

\u201cUCHealth is pleased to bring innovative health services to this community and beyond, a fast-growing part of the state that has been largely underserved,\u201d said Diane Cookson, president and CEO of UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital. \u201cA long-term relationship with a primary care provider, close to home, is important to one\u2019s overall health, and the combination of services offered at Sterling Ranch Medical Center provides options for patients to receive quality care and the ability to be referred to a specialist when needed.\u201d<\/p>\n

UCHealth Sterling Ranch Medical Center will celebrate its opening with an all-ages Wiffle Ball Challenge with great prizes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Sterling Ranch Community Park. Swing for the fences, and you could walk away with autographed merchandise. Also enjoy free food from food trucks, wiffle ball sets and more.<\/p>\n

Sterling Ranch is a master-planned community in northwest Douglas County that is ultimately expected to have 12,000 homes with approximately 33,000 residents. Plans include the ultimate incorporation of five elementary schools, a middle school, a high school, three neighborhood parks, and two million square feet of commercial space upon full buildout, which is expected to take 20 years.<\/p>\n

UCHealth\u00a0Sterling Ranch Medical Center offers online scheduling for convenience and to reduce wait times for patients. No appointments are necessary to see an urgent care clinician at this location, but patients may visit the website to reserve one. With laboratory services and X-ray capabilities, urgent care clinicians can evaluate and treat a wide variety of illnesses and injuries including sprains, strains, or possible broken bones, headaches, upper respiratory infections, rashes, wounds and abdominal pain.<\/p>\n
