LOVELAND, Colo. (May 23, 2019) \u2013 Loveland will be the first community in the state to join the National Fitness Campaign, making world-class fitness free for all when the new outdoor Fitness Court\u00ae at Fairgrounds Park makes its debut on June 8.<\/p>\n

Geared for adults of all ages and abilities, the Fitness Court<\/a> is an outdoor bodyweight circuit training facility created to transform public spaces into community fitness hubs.<\/p>\n

The official unveiling will take place at the Fitness Court Launch Festival from 9-11 a.m. June 8 at Fairgrounds Park, 700 S. Railroad Ave. The event will feature several free 35-minute full-body classes on the new outdoor court, a competitive challenge, free giveaways, prizes and more. The Fitness Court was designed for adults of all ages and abilities. Free classes and special events are planned to be featured at the Loveland court, which will officially open with a launch festival on June 8.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u201cThe City of Loveland Parks and Recreation<\/a> is excited to partner with UCHealth<\/a> and the National Fitness Campaign to bring state-of-the-art free fitness to our community,\u201d said LeAnn Williams, the city\u2019s recreation division manager. \u201cThe court and the free programming that both UCHealth and the City of Loveland will provide is an incredible opportunity for all Lovelanders to take advantage of.\u201d<\/p>\n

The city has been able to bring this to northern Colorado thanks to the generous support of UCHealth. These two partners plan to offer regular free fitness classes and special events featuring the expertise of local health and fitness experts at the court moving forward as well.<\/p>\n

“Exercise is one of the most powerful tools we have when it comes to health. It can help prevent and treat so many chronic diseases, and it’s good for your spirit and mind, too,” said Dr. Peter Smith, a UCHealth internal medicine physician in Loveland who will be involved in some of the upcoming events. “We are thrilled to be a part of this project because it’s going to inspire more people and families to move more and to have fun doing it.”<\/p>\n

The court is part of a nationwide effort launched by National Fitness Campaign<\/a> (NFC), and the city is teaming up with local ambassadors to encourage healthy lifestyles.<\/p>\n
