The surveyors also conducted on-site observations and interviews.<\/p>\n<p>The Joint Commission\u2019s accreditation qualifies the hospital to participate in the Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare programs. It also is a key step to finalize coverage agreements with other insurance providers.<\/p>\n<p>The accreditation survey came just as the hospital was closing in on its first two weeks of caring for patients. In that time \u2013 from July 3-17:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20 babies were born at the hospital.<\/li>\n<li>676 people were cared for in the emergency department.<\/li>\n<li>89 patients were admitted to the hospital for care.<\/li>\n<li>20 surgeries were performed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThere is an incredible energy here at Greeley Hospital,\u201d Schock said. \u201cWe are honored to care for our patients from Greeley and Weld County here and grateful for such an outpouring of support from the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Specialty services at the new hospital include a birth center with special care nursery, intensive care unit, acute care unit, operating and endoscopy rooms, a cardiac catheterization lab, a Level III trauma center, an emergency department and 24\/7 retail pharmacy, imaging and laboratory services.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 400 employees are on staff to care for patients, guests and the facility. The staff is joined by hundreds of physicians and advanced practice professionals who are caring for patients at the facility as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; GREELEY, Colo.
