\u2018Tis the season to see dazzling holiday lights at gardens and zoos throughout Colorado.<\/p>\n

From an \u201cElectric Safari\u201d at Colorado Springs\u2019 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to \u201cBlossoms of Light\u201d that bloom at Denver\u2019s Botanic Gardens to a twinkling wonderland at the Garden on Spring Creek in Fort Collins, an array of festive holiday lights beckon visitors to Colorado\u2019s cultural facilities to help you get into the holiday spirit.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a roundup of holiday light displays near you at Colorado zoos and gardens.<\/p>\n

Electric Safari at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Voted third-best in the nation for the past six years by USA TODAY\u2019s 10 Best Readers\u2019 Choice Awards for Zoo Lights<\/a>, Electric Safari takes holiday lights to a new level. That\u2019s not surprising for this hilly zoo perched at the foot of Pikes Peak, 6,714 feet above sea level. Cheyenne Mountain is the highest-elevation zoo in the U.S. and its holiday light display soars too.<\/p>\n

Electric Safari features more than 50 acres of twinkling light displays, some of which are synchronized to festive music. The zoo also features unique artisan-made light sculptures like a giant upside-down sloth hanging from a tree.<\/p>\n

Along with artistic creatures, visitors can see many of the real zoo animals, too. Most exhibits are open. Guests can also visit the Zoo\u2019s hippo calf, Omo, and see the elephant and rhino barn along with African elephants.<\/p>\n

Electric Safari takes place on select nights in December and ends on Jan. 1. Check out CMZoo for details<\/a>.\u00a0 Advance-timed e-tickets are required for members and non-members.<\/p>\n

Denver Botanic Gardens\u2019 Blossoms of Light<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Denver\u2019s Botanic Gardens<\/a> typically bursts into color during the day in the spring and summer when tulips, lilacs and water lilies bloom.<\/p>\n

But at night during the holiday season, more than half a million environmentally-friendly LED lights transform the Gardens into a twinkling winter wonderland. Visitors can stroll through the light display and enjoy an array of experiences, including a 200-foot-long, 17-foot-high light tunnel that features animated, flashing lights.<\/p>\n

Blossoms of Light continues on select nights through Jan. 11 at Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York St. in Denver. Advance tickets are required. Learn more about information and ticket details.<\/a><\/p>\n

Trail of Lights at Chatfield Farms in Littleton<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Chatfield Farms<\/a>, another location under the Denver Botanic Gardens umbrella, features paths of glistening lights that celebrate Colorado\u2019s countryside. Christmas lights adorn many of the historic buildings at the site, including the old schoolhouse, ranch house and barn. Special features include synchronized music and light displays in the children\u2019s play area, along with singing Christmas trees, two light tunnels and illuminated antique tractors.<\/p>\n

Trail of Lights continues on select nights through Jan. 11. Advance-purchase tickets are required. Learn more about hours and tickets<\/a>. Chatfield Farms is located at 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Road in Littleton.<\/p>\n

Garden of Lights at the Gardens on Spring Creek, Fort Collins<\/strong><\/h2>\n

December nights also bring a dazzling light display to northern Colorado. Check out the Garden of Lights at the Gardens on Spring Creek in Fort Collins.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of thousands of environmentally friendly LED lights transform the gardens into a twinkling winter wonderland. Santa Claus is at the Everitt Pavilion Dec. 12-23, and on certain nights, special guests, like carolers and Mrs. Claus, visit the garden.<\/p>\n

The Garden of Lights features a half-mile loop of perennial flower beds, huge sculptural flowers, grapevines, butterflies, a holiday village, and other favorite garden creatures \u2014 all constructed entirely from holiday lights.<\/p>\n

Timed-entry tickets are required. Purchase early as some popular time slots sell out. Learn more about scheduled performances and how to buy tickets for the Garden of Lights<\/a>. The Gardens at Spring Creek are located at 2145 Centre Ave. in Fort Collins. The light display runs on select nights from 5 to 9 p.m. The gates close at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

Zoo Lights<\/strong> at the <\/strong>Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance<\/a> becomes positively incandescent during the holidays, with more than a million lights decorating the 80-acre gem located in Denver\u2019s City Park.<\/p>\n

Along with spectacular light displays, visitors will see animated light sculptures with fan favorites like live ice carving exhibitions with local ice artists and views of cold-weather animals (at their discretion, of course).<\/p>\n

Zoo Lights runs throughout December and into early January. Members can visit early, and there’s a special low sensory night on New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n

Tickets are available only in advance. Make your plans early. Tickets to Zoo Lights sell out every year. For additional charges, special \u201cwarm-up\u201d areas are available. Visitors can also purchase add-on packages with \u201cholospex\u201d glasses. The Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance is located at 2300 Steele St. in Denver.<\/p>\n

Hudson Holidays at The Hudson Gardens Event Center in Littleton<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The light display at Hudson Holidays<\/a> offers an extravaganza for the eyes with an array of colors, from sapphire blue to orange, fuchsia and neon green. Then, look down into the lake at Hudson Gardens, and you\u2019ll see the lights erupting like colorful fireworks from the water.<\/p>\n
