From left, Josh Goshey, Medical Center of the Rockies Progressive Care Unit; Lydia Baldwin, Poudre Valley Hospital Intensive Care Unit; Suza Ault, regional manager of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab.<\/p>\n<p>Ten of the recipients received the Magnet Nurse Awards, which were developed to support the components of the American Nurses Credentialing Center\u2019s Magnet Model, which include: transformational leadership; structural empowerment; exemplary professional practice; new knowledge, innovations and improvements; and empirical outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, nurses are nominated by their colleagues in one of the categories, and through a selection committee of peers, a nurse is chosen for each. The winners are invited to attend the National Magnet Conference in Atlanta in October.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s winners are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transformational Leadership<br \/>\n<\/strong>Amber Sansone, Surgical Trauma Unit at MCR<br \/>\nHeather Roth, Surgical Unit at PVH<\/p>\n<p><strong>Structural Empowerment<br \/>\n<\/strong>Michelle Zheng, Birthing Center at PVH<br \/>\nCarrie Guffey, Mother and Family Unit at MCR<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exemplary Professional Practice<br \/>\n<\/strong>Sarah Sifrit, Operating Room at MCR<br \/>\nMelinda Tafoya, PVH\u2019s Neuro Med Surg<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Knowledge, Innovations and Improvements<br \/>\n<\/strong>Page Peters, Wee Steps at PVH<br \/>\nRobin Lueck, GI Lab at MCR<\/p>\n<p><strong>Empirical Outcomes<br \/>\n<\/strong>Jerre Johnson, Clinical Quality at MCR<br \/>\nKatrina Rice, Oncology at PVH<\/p>\n<p>Three additional nurses were recognized with a new honor, the Magnet Nurse Leader Award, which is based on the concepts of transformational leadership, idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration. The winners are invited to attend the March 2016 American Organization of Nurse Executives National Conference in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The winners of the 2015 Magnet Nurse Leader Awards<\/strong>:<br \/>\nLydia Baldwin, PVH Intensive Care Unit<br \/>\nJosh Goshey, MCR Progressive Care Unit<br \/>\nSuza Ault, Regional Manager of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab<\/p>\n<p>Last year, PVH was re-designated by the Magnet Recognition Program for the fourth time.
