The flu mist vaccine is often recommended for kids, so they don’t have to get a shot. But it may not be effective against the swine flu strain this flu season. News five is asking doctors whether it’s safe to give your child a shot after receiving a flu mist vaccine.<\/p>\n

“It is okay to do the shot on top of the mist,” said Dr. Gregory Collins of UCHealth Memorial Hospital. “Actually, I’m a father of three kids. It may be news to my nine-year-old, but she’s going to get the shot this year. Last year they got the mist.”<\/p>\n
