UCHealth Parkview<\/a> has received the American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Elite Plus” quality achievement award and the “Get With The Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Plus” achievement award.<\/p>\n

The awards honor the hospital and its staff members for their commitment to ensuring stroke and heart failure patients receive the most appropriate treatments according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.<\/p>\n

Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 5 causes of death in the United States, respectively, according to the American Heart Association’s 2025 Statistical Update<\/a>. Studies show patients can recover better when providers consistently follow treatment guidelines.<\/p>\n

Get With The Guidelines<\/a> puts the expertise of the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association to work for hospitals nationwide, helping ensure patient care is aligned with the latest research- and evidence-based guidelines.<\/p>\n

\u201cUCHealth Parkview is committed to improving patient care by adhering to the latest treatment practices,\u201d said Dr. James Caldwell<\/a>, UCHealth Parkview’s chief medical officer. \u201cGet With The Guidelines makes it easier for our teams to put proven knowledge and guidelines to work daily, which studies show can help patients recover better. The end goal is to ensure more people in Pueblo and southern Colorado can experience longer, healthier lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

UCHealth Parkview is recognized on the AHA Honor Roll for meeting specific criteria that improve medication adherence, provide early follow-up care and coordination, and enhance patient education with the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to heart disease or stroke<\/p>\n
