Foto: UCHealth.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/today\/acl-tears-how-long-does-it-take-to-recover-and-return-to-sports\/\">Cuando hay una lesi\u00f3n<\/a>, la persona que la ha sufrido lo sabe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPuede que tenga dificultad para soportar el peso o la hinchaz\u00f3n en la articulaci\u00f3n\u201d, dijo Meininger. \u201cSiempre que la rodilla est\u00e9 hinchada, es se\u00f1al de que algo anda mal y necesita ser evaluado\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/today\/should-you-have-surgery-after-an-acl-tear\/\">Una cirug\u00eda<\/a> probablemente ser\u00e1 muy necesaria si el LCA est\u00e1 ba\u00f1ado en l\u00edquido sinovial, por lo que no se cura f\u00e1cilmente por s\u00ed solo.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Desgarro de menisco<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La segunda lesi\u00f3n de rodilla m\u00e1s com\u00fan es la rotura de menisco, un par de almohadillas de cart\u00edlago entre el f\u00e9mur y la tibia que ayudan a amortiguar y estabilizar la articulaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221;Estas roturas pueden ocurrir al flexionar profundamente la rodilla, al girar sobre hielo o al resbalar y caer&#8221;, explic\u00f3 Meininger.<\/p>\n<p>Dado que el menisco recibe poca irrigaci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea, no se cura f\u00e1cilmente, por lo que puede requerir cirug\u00eda para su recorte o reparaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221;El objetivo es preservar esa amortiguaci\u00f3n y la estructura de soporte para que el resto de la rodilla no sufra tensi\u00f3n y presi\u00f3n excesivas&#8221;, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Meininger.<\/p>\n<p>La dificultad para soportar peso y la hinchaz\u00f3n en la rodilla tambi\u00e9n son s\u00edntomas de una rotura de menisco, al igual que la limitaci\u00f3n del movimiento: con un menisco roto, es posible que no pueda flexionar ni extender completamente la rodilla.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>C\u00f3mo prevenir las lesiones de rodilla m\u00e1s comunes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Los estiramientos y el fortalecimiento regulares son clave para la recuperaci\u00f3n de una lesi\u00f3n. &#8220;Incluso un simple desgarro de menisco se beneficia de un programa de fortalecimiento del tronco&#8221;, afirm\u00f3 Meininger.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, puede ayudar a prevenir lesiones, especialmente las causadas por el sobreesfuerzo.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Debe estirar dentro de su rango de movimiento normal y trabajar la fuerza para lograr estabilidad en el tronco y as\u00ed reaccionar a tiempo antes de que se produzca una lesi\u00f3n&#8221;, explic\u00f3 Meininger.<\/p>\n<p>Unos m\u00fasculos flexibles y sueltos responden mejor a los movimientos r\u00e1pidos y permiten que la rodilla mantenga un movimiento normal.<\/p>\n<p>El fortalecimiento debe desarrollarse en todo el cuerpo, desde los tobillos hasta las caderas y el tronco. La fuerza de la cadera es especialmente importante para la estabilidad de la rodilla, ya que una cadera d\u00e9bil o rotada puede sobrecargarlas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Todos los elementos est\u00e1n interconectados&#8221;, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Meininger. &#8220;Una lesi\u00f3n o el sobreesfuerzo en una zona puede predisponerle a una en otra&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Meininger recomienda desarrollar un programa de fortalecimiento con la ayuda de un fisioterapeuta, un entrenador deportivo u otro profesional que pueda diagnosticar debilidades e inestabilidades.
