Los ni\u00f1os se los hacen en el patio de la escuela, los adultos intentando impresionar a alguien en el gimnasio.<\/p>\n<p>Los esguinces y las distensiones son similares, pero no son lo mismo.<\/p>\n<p>Una distensi\u00f3n es el estiramiento excesivo de los ligamentos, el tejido que une los huesos entre s\u00ed, principalmente en las articulaciones. Un esguince es una lesi\u00f3n en los tendones, que unen los m\u00fasculos a los huesos. Sin embargo, los tratamientos son similares.<\/p>\n<p>Entonces, \u00bfcu\u00e1ndo un esguince o una distensi\u00f3n requieren atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica? \u00bfY d\u00f3nde se debe buscar esa atenci\u00f3n?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Autocuidado para esguinces y distensiones musculares<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Para una distensi\u00f3n o esguince leve, la mayor\u00eda de las personas pueden tratarse en casa tomando paracetamol o ibuprofeno, descansando la parte del cuerpo lesionada, aplicando hielo o una compresa y elev\u00e1ndola.<\/p>\n<p>El hielo se ha recomendado tradicionalmente para este tipo de lesiones, pero no siempre es efectivo. Si aplica hielo, h\u00e1galo durante unos 20 minutos, tres veces al d\u00eda. Adem\u00e1s, un vendaje puede ser contraproducente si no se aplica correctamente.<\/p>\n<p>Si solo hay un poco de hinchaz\u00f3n o moretones y algo de dolor, y quiz\u00e1s no puede mover la zona con normalidad, pero s\u00ed puede moverla, lo m\u00e1s probable es que pueda tratarlo en casa.
