El cuidar la salud de la columna, mantenerse \u00e1gil y con buena movilidad, y buscar ayuda cuando sea necesario, puede ayudar a mitigar y tratar estos problemas de salud.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>La importancia de mantenerse activo para prevenir el dolor en el cuello y la espalda<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Algunos problemas en la espalda y en el cuello son inevitables debido a la gen\u00e9tica o a traumatismos, pero el ejercicio regular, una alimentaci\u00f3n saludable y mantener un peso corporal adecuado contribuyen a su prevenci\u00f3n. Si se deja de mover, los ligamentos y tejidos conectivos circundantes se vuelven r\u00edgidos, lo que predispone a la columna a sufrir lesiones.<\/p>\n<p>Preste atenci\u00f3n al tiempo que pasa sentado: pasar horas frente a la computadora o utilizando dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos puede provocar problemas en el cuello y la espalda.<\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, evite los excesos al hacer ejercicio: levantar demasiado peso o ejercer una fuerza excesiva sobre la columna puede causar lesiones.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Cu\u00e1ndo debe buscar ayuda para el dolor en el cuello o en la espalda<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cLa mayor\u00eda de las personas sabr\u00e1n instintivamente cu\u00e1ndo un problema es m\u00e1s que una molestia o dolor leve\u201d, dijo Sielatycki.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, si pasa una tarde haciendo trabajos de jardiner\u00eda, no es de extra\u00f1ar que sienta dolor al d\u00eda siguiente. Los antiinflamatorios de venta libre, junto con el descanso y los estiramientos suaves, pueden ayudar.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, si el dolor es m\u00e1s persistente o intenso, o si experimenta s\u00edntomas neurol\u00f3gicos, como dolor que se irradia hacia los brazos, entumecimiento u hormigueo, busque ayuda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSolicite una evaluaci\u00f3n lo antes posible\u201d, dijo Sielatycki. \u201cEl entumecimiento y el hormigueo son indicios de que podr\u00eda existir una compresi\u00f3n nerviosa que no desaparecer\u00e1 por s\u00ed sola\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Opciones de tratamientos<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Por lo general, el primer paso para tratar el dolor de cuello o espalda es la medicaci\u00f3n antiinflamatoria junto con la fisioterapia y los estiramientos. Dependiendo del problema, las inyecciones, como los bloqueos nerviosos, pueden resultar \u00fatiles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn muchos casos, esas medidas ayudan a calmar el episodio de dolor y a que el paciente alcance el estado que desea\u201d, dijo Sielatycki.<\/p>\n<p>Como \u00faltimo recurso, se puede considerar la cirug\u00eda.
