My approach to sleep medicine starts with a simple idea: people are more than their sleep study results. Every patient arrives with a different story, different goals and different challenges. Some are exhausted and struggling to stay awake at work. Others are worried about memory changes, heart problems or years of poor sleep that have slowly affected every part of their lives. My role is to listen carefully, identify what is driving their symptoms and build a treatment plan that makes sense for that individual. I place a strong emphasis on patient education because people are far more likely to succeed when they understand not only what is happening, but why it is happening and what can realistically be improved.
What makes sleep medicine particularly rewarding is that its impact extends far beyond helping someone feel rested. Better sleep can influence blood pressure, cardiac rhythm disorders, diabetes control, mood, cognitive function and overall quality of life. As research continues to evolve, we are learning more about the role sleep plays in long-term health and disease prevention. That is one of the reasons I remain deeply interested in the field. Whether it is newer medications for narcolepsy and hypersomnia, advances in insomnia treatment, oral appliance therapy, hypoglossal nerve stimulation, phrenic nerve stimulation, or emerging approaches to obstructive and central sleep apnea, I enjoy staying current with new developments and bringing those options to patients when appropriate. At the end of the day, my goal is straightforward: provide thoughtful, evidence-based care that helps patients sleep better, function better and live healthier lives.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active in the Colorado outdoors. My wife and I share our home with an Old English Sheepdog who keeps us entertained and makes sure we spend plenty of time outside. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, attending community events and taking advantage of everything Northern Colorado has to offer. I value maintaining a healthy work/life balance and enjoy activities that allow me to connect with family, friends and the local community.

My clinical interests focus on the evolving landscape of sleep medicine and the ways emerging research, new therapies and advancing technology can improve patient care. I am particularly interested in developing treatments for obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia disorders, narcolepsy and central sleep apnea, as well as the growing understanding of how sleep affects long term cardiovascular, neurologic, metabolic and cognitive health. I enjoy staying current with new evidence and exploring how innovative approaches can be translated into meaningful improvements in patient outcomes. I also have a strong interest in the role that new technologies and evolving care models may play in the future of sleep medicine, with the goal of improving access to care, enhancing patient engagement, and helping patients achieve better long term health outcomes through more personalized treatment strategies.
