Sonya Doctorian is a video producer and photojournalist whose challenge and passion is to show the inspirational stories that flow from UCHealth's patients and providers. Sonya was a video journalist for Denver's Rocky Mountain News until it closed in 2009. The demise of the 150-year-old newspaper propelled her to The Washington Post to work as deputy director of photography. She has led three photo staffs as director of photography; The St. Petersburg (FL) Times, The State newspaper in Columbia, SC and The Knoxville (TN) News-Sentinel. She began her career as a staff photographer at The Tampa (FL) Tribune. Sonya earned a masters in documentary filmmaking from American University in Washington, DC and a bachelor of journalism from the University of Missouri.
